Founded in 1923, the Mödling Artists’ Association to the oldest cultural associations Lower Austria. “In the 1930s it represented the strongest professional association of visual artists in the country,” reports deputy chairman Sigrid Ofner.

The main task is to give members the opportunity to… artistic exchange to offer their work regularly in exhibitions to present and support them in their artistic intentions. It has been in operation since 1992 “Art station” in Mödling as the club’s own event and exhibition venue. Apart from the annual exhibitions taking place there, group exhibitions are also held at other locations such as Essingerhaus or the earth roomorganized.
Partnerships
In recent years, members of the Mödling Artists’ Association have repeatedly taken part in the Biennale the Twin town Köszeg took part in Hungary, and in 1969 an exhibition took place in the twin city Esch-sur-Alzette held in Luxembourg. In 1995 an exchange exhibition between Mödlinger and Spanish artists took place Barcelona organized, one with Hungarian artists in 1997 Budapest.
In 2013, members of the Mödling Artists’ Association presented their works at a Twin town exhibition in Offenbach am Main. In 2017, artistically designed armchairs by members of the Mödlinger Künstlerbund, but also by Tennis-Star, were donated to Lebenshilfe Dominic Thiem and singer Julian le Play auctioned.
The artists’ association currently has 49 members from the fields of drawing, graphics, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, performance and multimedia. In October, people were invited to the “Open Studio Days”. “Participatory studio for art-hungry people”, where visitors, together with chairman Otto Husinsky, were able to create their dreams for the future with colors and as collages. The resulting works will be presented on an column at the Exhibition “Vision” from November 9th to 19th in the Kunststation, Untere Bachgasse 5.
