Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that when the state government does things without transparency, the Center will have to take some measures and there is no point in accusing it of broken federalism.

The Minister was inaugurating the Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Mangalapuram Panchayat, which was initiated to reach the maximum number of people by the central government’s aid schemes.

It is natural for the CAG to criticize it when it does something that is not transparent. Then central government will take remedial measures. The Center is adopting the same approach to all the states. She said that Kerala has not been singled out for anything. The minister’s remarks were in reference to the CAG report that borrowing through KIFB and others would be treated as borrowing by the state and subsequent cut in Kerala’s borrowing limit.

They said that the Center pays the dues to the states accurately and often pays them in advance.

Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is for all people. The central government is finding the needy people and providing money to them. In the last 10 years, there has not even been a rumor that the Prime Minister or the ministers have committed corruption. The minister also stated that the country’s economy is growing even amid the Covid, fuel price hike and wars.

The minister handed over checks to the beneficiaries and gas stoves to the Ujwala Yojana beneficiaries in the program organized by SBI Kerala Circle.
