A court spokesman confirmed corresponding media reports on Thursday. A year ago, the 14-year-old was taken to the Graz Clinic, where she died of the tumor a few days later. The hospital filed a complaint because the tumor had been treated incorrectly or not in a timely manner.

The public prosecutor’s office accuses the parents of torturing or neglecting minors, younger or defenseless people, but does not blame them for the death of their daughter. The trial starts on March 19th.

The parents’ defender, lawyer Alexander Todor-Kostic, rejected the allegations to the “Kleine Zeitung”. The disease might have ended fatally with chemotherapy, and the girl was already so mature that she might and did make her own decisions regarding therapy.
