Acer is getting into components for good with an Intel Arc A770 graphics card

Acer, well known for its portable PCs, unveiled on Twitter a photo of an amazing graphics card in its colors. This seems to confirm the Taiwanese manufacturer’s arrival on the component market after a timid entry in March 2021 with its FrostBlade fans. Intel seems to have found the arguments with its lifelong partner for it to offer a customized version of the Arc A770 graphics card, while the short-term future on this market looks complicated, which highlights in particular EVGA’s withdrawal.

Acer was particularly stingy with details since this teasing takes the form of a simple photo. However, two things are intriguing. First of all, the cooling system, since it is composed of an axial fan (the one on the right) blowing towards the printed circuit of the graphics card and a “blower” type fan, or turbine, which blows the air outwards from the graphics card and therefore from the case in which the card will be installed. For the axial fan, it is possible that Acer has taken over the design of the FrostBlade fans released a little over a year ago and currently sold at retail. The blower fan is labeled “AeroBlade 3D Fan” and looks like it comes straight from laptops gamingwith a blade design to reduce noise while increasing airflow.

Another curiosity of the card presented by Acer: the two eight-pin power connectors. On the Intel reference model, the graphics card has an eight-pin connector and a six-pin connector. We can therefore assume that Acer provides a surplus of power for potential overclocking capabilities. One unknown remains: the amount of onboard RAM since two Arc A770 models will be sold, one with 8 GB of video memory, the other with 16 GB. Given the Predator configurations offered by Acer, we have quite a few doubts about using a 16 GB model.

After contacting Acer to find out a little more, the manufacturer confirmed to us the retail sale of this model and the desire to offer it on the French market without this being fully acted yet.
