As Craig mentioned in a post on the official forums just now, there will be several changes to certain challenges with the launch of Season 6 next week.
Currently, there is damage allowing the acquisition of icons following a certain amount of victories with the different heroes and heroines. These will be integrated into the new progression system with the launch of Season 6, and your current progress will not carry over to it.
You will keep the rewards previously earned from completing these challenges once the new system is in place. You can still acquire it by the end of Season 5.
