Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo said that he had an opportunity to play in League One club Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. In an interview with France football journalist Thierry Marchand, Ronaldo spoke about his chances of joining PSG.

Marchand interviewed Ronaldo for Flammarion.

Ronaldo’s answer to Marchand’s question, ‘When will we be able to see Cristiano in Paris’ is being discussed.

‘The doors are still open. The whole stadium is filled with only the Portuguese from Paris. I find myself in the Parc des Princes before fifty thousand Portuguese. That would be great,’ was Ronaldo’s reply.

In 2019, Cristiano Ronaldo gave a great performance in Serie A. In the 2018-19 season, the player had 28 goals and 11 assists in 48 matches played for Juventus. Along with the Serie A title, the player also won the Super Coppa Italiana for Juventus.

In Ronaldo’s biography, Marchand had previously stated that the star had expressed interest in joining PSG.

On October 22, 2019, after a Juventus match, it was revealed that the player is interested in joining PSG. The player took a positive stance to Marchand’s question whether he was interested in joining PSG. But that deal did not happen.

If the player had signed a contract with PSG in 2019, Ronaldo would have been able to play with Mbappe and Neymar. PSG would have had the opportunity to mark the Ronaldo-Neymar-Mbappe trio in the history of Europe.

But the player would remain in the team and move to his old club Manchester United in 2021. After this, PSG acquired superstar Lionel Messi in the summer transfer.

Messi, who played for PSG for two years, had 32 goals and 34 assists from 75 matches. Even when the team won the League One title twice, Messi was present at PSG.
