LR Teschl-Hofmeister: “Thank you Herbert Holzinger for this excellent idea”
St.Pölten (OTS) – The volunteer Herbert Holzinger is making the residents of the nursing and care center (PBZ) Mödling very happy with a very special donation – an e-rickshaw for walks. “Donating a rickshaw was really an excellent idea from Herbert Holzinger. In this way, the residents are able to go out into the countryside very comfortably at any time,” says Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Social Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister happily during her visit to the PBZ Mödling.
Herbert Holzinger has been a volunteer in the care center since 2012 and knows the residents and their needs very well: “Various leisure activities in care centers are important for physical and mental well-being. I am happy to be able to contribute to this with my donation. The seniors are enthusiastic regarding the rides and appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and discover new places.”
The vehicle is a specially made e-rickshaw – and it even has the design of the Lower Austrian State Health Agency. With it, civil servants and volunteers can now go on walks in the village or short excursions in the area with all interested residents. The bike offers space for two passengers and the e-drive also actively supports the driver.
All interested parties who would like to volunteer as “bicycle pilots” are cordially invited to register at pbz.moedling@to report to noe-lga.at. Other locations of the Lower Austrian State Health Agency also have rickshaws or rent them by the day in order to give their residents variety and joy with beautiful excursions and trips into nature.
