Financial and industrial stocks rise in the Muscat index

direct: The main index of the Muscat Stock Exchange, “Muscat 30,” rose by 0.82 percent at the end of trading on Tuesday, closing at 4,560.94 points, gaining 36.97 points from its levels in yesterday’s session, Monday.

Today, the financial and industrial sector indices rose. The former rose 0.69 percent, driven by a rise in Bank Dhofar shares by 6.25 percent, and Oman and the Emirates rose by 3.85 percent.

The rise in the financial sector was limited by the advance of Al Madina Investment Company over the decliners by 7.99 percent.

The industrial sector index rose by 0.35 percent, with Al Anwar Ceramics leading the gainers by 7.32 percent, and Muscat Thread Factories rose by 3.77 percent.

On the other hand, the services sector index alone declined by 0.16 percent, with Barka Water and Energy shares declining by 2.7 percent, and Al Nahda Services declining by 2.27 percent.

Trading volume declined today to 14.85 million shares, compared to 21.72 million shares in the previous session.

The value of trades increased to 4.65 million riyals, compared to about 4.06 million riyals last Thursday’s session.

OQ Gas Networks shares topped the active shares in volume today with 6.28 million shares traded, while Omantel led the activity with a value of about 1.58 million riyals.
