The issuance of personal numbers (PIN) has started –

The Minister of the Interior and Security, Hermann Immongault, toured the owner on Wednesday and said he was satisfied with the arrangements made on different sites to welcome applicants for NIP certificates, prior to obtaining the national card electronic identity.

As announced last Thursday, the campaign to issue personal identification numbers actually started on April 3 on the various sites selected for the occasion in Greater Libreville.

On the ground, the Minister of the Interior and Security expressed his satisfaction with the reception conditions for users and the entire technical and logistical system deployed by the competent services.

“For this start-up, everything seems to me to be in order, apart from a few hazards linked to the internet connection here and there, notably due to the cut of the submarine cable. But this problem does not arise on the site of the General Directorate of Documentation and Immigration, the DGDI. I urge our compatriots to go massively to the different sites”pointed out Hermann Imongault.

Except for the DGDI, 11 other sites are dedicated to this campaign, in Libreville intramural, Owéndo, Akanda and Ntoum and concern all Gabonese citizens aged 16 and over. “Mobile sites will also be made operational to reach hospitals and people with reduced mobility”specified the head of the Department of the Interior and Security.

Hermann Imongault recalled that “it is a permanent operation which will be deployed inside the country in the coming weeks”.

The personal identification number certificate is the only document which will give right to the national electronic identity card. Applicants must present a regular passport or legalized birth certificate. The certificate of nationality and the treasury receipt for citizens who have acquired Gabonese nationality.
