The Republicans in the House of Representatives will give Ukraine close to 61 billion dollars

The support package for Ukraine is 60.84 billion dollars, corresponding to over 671 billion kroner at today’s exchange rate.

According to the proposal, Israel will receive 26.38 billion dollars in support, while the package for Taiwan and America’s allies in the Indo-Pacific is 8.12 billion dollars.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, said earlier on Wednesday that the assembly will vote on the support packages on Saturday night US time.

Already in February, the Senate adopted a support package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan with a total frame of 95 billion dollars, in excess of 1,000 billion kroner.

But it has taken some time to get the House of Representatives, where the Republicans have a majority, to vote on the support. Johnson, who is a close ally of Donald Trump, has left it untouched because of opposition from conservative Republicans and from Trump.

Earlier this week, Johnson announced that the support package passed in the Senate will be split into four separate packages to be voted on in the House.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has repeatedly asked Congress to approve the aid package for Ukraine and warned that the country will lose the war against Russia if the aid is delayed.
