[キーウ（キエフ） １９日 ロイター] – The governor of Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast in western Ukraine announced on the 19th that a major thermal power plant in the city of Burshtyn in the western Ukraine was hit by a Russian missile attack and a fire broke out. There have been no fatalities or injuries.
The plant served five million people in three western regions, representing more than 10% of Ukraine’s population before the Russian invasion.
The governor of Vinnitsa state in the Midwest also said that an energy facility in the state had been attacked by Russian forces. The extent of the damage has not been clarified.
Russian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russian airstrikes had destroyed 30 percent of the country’s power plants since March 10, following a spate of attacks on key infrastructure ahead of winter.
A senior presidential official said three people were injured in a drone attack in the northern province of Chernigiv.
